Wheelwright of Christian Rummel
Christian Rummel, a German from Bavaria, decided at the age of 22 that he wants to be a traveling journeyman. After three years and a day of apprenticeship in carpentry, according to the journeymen code, when he became a true craftsman, Christian settled in Richis, a small village near Mediaş and took the former carpentry shop. Fortunately, here in Richis, one of the few remaining Saxons was a rotary craftsman. Christian has also learned this craft, and today he is one of the most famous carpenters in Transylvania. In his workshop we will learn the secrets of working with raw, massive wood. We will learn to cherish the wood and give it simple and lasting forms. At the same time, we will learn a lot about the traditional architecture of Transylvania.
